Providing the complementary therapies of massage, myofascial release, Indian head massage, reflexology and reiki in Barwell (Leicestershire) – convenient for Hinckley, Leicester, Nuneaton, Bedworth and surrounding villages

NOTE:  The treatments that I offer are complementary and should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice. This is because it is vital that we do not cause any delay to medical treatment of symptoms that could be a warning sign of an undiagnosed medical condition.

Seek medical advice before having a massage if you have phlebitis, thrombosis, varicose veins, severe acute back pain, or fever.

What is reflexology, and how might it help me?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works on the reflexology points on your feet or hands to aid healing to the whole person, not just your prevailing symptoms. Reflexology may be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.

There is some suggestion that reflexology may aid stress-related conditions, back pain, headaches, fertility issues, sleep disorders, and hormonal imbalances.

Many people use reflexology as a way of relaxing the mind and body and counteracting stress.  Some doctors, consultants and other health care professionals recognise reflexology as a well established, respected and effective therapy at an individual basis.

Gentle Touch™ Reflexology

What happens when I come for a treatment?

During the treatment I will apply very gentle pressure to the reflex points on the soles of your feet. I believe that the therapy works by activating these reflex points, and that there is one for every area of your body on the soles of your feet, each connected via a subtle energy pathway to the area in the body it represents.

When you first come to see me I will have a preliminary talk with you to determine your present and past health and lifestyle. Then together we will discuss and agree a plan of treatment that is adapted to your individual needs, physical characteristics and personality. At each subsequent visit we will talk about your experiences.

A treatment session usually lasts for about one hour. I may recommend a course of treatment, depending on your body's needs.

How will I feel after the treatment?

After a couple of treatments you may find your body responding in a particular and definite way. Some people feel tired; some more energetic; some have pleasant visualisations and sensations during the treatment. Each response is individual, and all are ok.
